Discovery Channel lists Arctic Ease as a Spring Gear Essential Hiking Tools and Gadgets

Spring Gear Guide: Essential Hiking Tools and Gadgets First Aid Kits Things happen on the trail, and bringing a basic first aid kit isn’t just a good idea, it should be a mandatory item on your packing list. Arctic Ease wraps are eco-friendly, re-usable, cold-compression wraps infused with a non-toxic, biodegradable cooling agent that stay cold for hours without having to be put in a freezer. They work by absorbing heat energy from the body to cool the covered area. The absorbed heat is then lost to evaporation which results in a sustained cooling effect. Source:

In 2012 Nothing is Impossible if You Believe!

As we wind down 2011 with the advent of a New Year right around the corner, what goals do you have for 2012? Did Christmas become a collective excuse for consumption, as if the best way to celebrate the spirit of the season is to rack up empty calories and an excuse to over indulge in your house this year?  If so, the implicit assumption is that happiness can be gift-wrapped with food and gifts; only to suffer the self-ridicule days afterwards as our collective waistbands expand. The problem is that the short term choice of excessive calories from poor… [more]

Obesity, Type 2 diabetes and Osteoarthritis – sign me up!

Those are not words that most people would ever utter much less think, however as a population Americans are destined to suffer from three of the most debilitating disease states (obesity, diabetes and osteoarthritis). Most of us look forward to our ‘golden years’ as a time to be able to relax, travel for adventure and see the grand kids.  With the increase rate of preventable disease state proliferation that results from obesity and carrying the excess weight on our bodies fewer and fewer of us will see these days in the way that we envisioned. Obesity has a well-established relationship… [more]

Innovation is alive in the U.S.A – American Jobs!

With the loss of 5.6 million manufacturing jobs in the past 10 years, and the residual impact loss that is felt across the board in the communities affected.  For every one manufacturing job there are 5 to 8 others created or lost – suppliers, marketing, truck drivers, accountants, R & D, clerical support positions and more. Manufacturing jobs traditionally have provided living wages and good benefits that allowed workers to care for their families.  The ability of the once great American economic machine to create wealth appears to have been put out to pasture. Since 2001, over 42,000 U.S. factories… [more]
